The first JOC Highlight Concert held in Korea

Yamaha Music School was opened in Korea in 2004, and it has expanded throughout the country to have 6,000 students now learning with 160 teachers at 21 locations. The school offers the course for a wide variety of age groups, from 2-year-olds course, “Akaringo Course” to pop-music courses for adults, Popular Music Course.

Now the country enjoyed the “Junior Original Concert, Highlight Concert” for the first time, participated by 15 groups of children from the age six to 10. The program was full of variety with piano and Electone solos, ensembles with violin and cello, piano duet, as well as big ensembles including piano and Electone. The pieces were all very attractive expressing genuine childlike sensitivity, and every performance was given heartfelt applause from full-house audience of about 800 students and their parents. At the end of the concert, all the performers brought the balloons with the message “Music for Everyone” to appeal to the entire hall the great joy of music.

Held in Asian countries annually, Korea is to be the host country of the Asia Pacific JOC in 2009.
