Yamaha Music Foundation Personal Information Protection Policy

Yamaha Music Foundation believes that protection of a customer's personal information is an obligation under laws and regulations, and also an important social responsibility.
The Foundation shall establish the Personal Information Protection Policy as set forth below under the corporate philosophy of “compliance with the law upholding high ethical standards” and respect for and protection of customer rights regarding personal information.

  1. Acquisition and Use of Personal Information

    In the case of acquiring a customer's personal information, we will acquire the information by appropriate methods and notify the purpose of use to the person or publish it on the website, etc., by identifying the purpose to the extent possible. The acquired personal information shall be handled to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use.

  2. Provision of Personal Information

    We will not provide a customer's personal information to any third party other than the operation consignees without the consent of the customer. When we use personal information jointly with affiliates and YAMAHA exclusive agents, etc., we will specify or publish prescribed matters including the range of operators jointly using the information and the purpose of use, except as required by laws and regulations or to cooperate with public agencies.

  3. Safety Management of Personal Information

    In order to prevent unauthorized access to personal information or loss, destruction, alteration and leakage, etc., thereof, we strive to protect a customer's personal information by implementing technical measures and improving the safety management system.

  4. Publication of Purpose of Use and Request for Disclosure and Correction, etc.

    We publish the purpose of use of a customer's personal information held by us and the contact for inquiries, and we respond faithfully to the request for disclosure, correction, suspension of use and deletion, etc., to the reasonable extent pursuant to the prescribed procedures.

  5. Compliance with Laws and Regulations

    We comply with laws and regulations, related provisions and guidelines for personal information and fulfill our corporate social responsibility.

  6. Continuous Improvement

    In order to securely implement personal information protection, we will continue to review and improve our compliance program.
